Mama Plus One Do you watch Tipsy Bartender? If this drink doesn’t have you ready for Cinco de Mayo next month, I don’t know what will. If you can work a blender, you can make the drink. I would share the physical drink with you if I could, but that kind of technology doesn’t exist yet, so you’re just stuck with looking and making it at home. How absolutely delicious does this frozen drink look? I mean… seriously, trust me on this. Then, pour in some blue raspberry lemonade (we mixed ours up from a drink packet). You’ll want the glass filled to about a half inch away from the top. Personally, I like using a hurricane glass for this because it’s a little deeper and gives you a lot more room to pour your drink. Pour the mixture into a margarita glass, or a hurricane glass like I’ve used. You’ll want the virgin kiwi margarita extra slushy and delicious. Blend it thoroughly into a slush consistency. In your blender, pile in the shots, a whole kiwi, and a cup of ice. For each drink, that’s 1 shot of lemon lime soda, 2 shots of melon sports drink, 2 shots of sweet and sour drink mix (found in the mixer aisle), and 1 shot of lime juice. And by shots, I mean non-alcoholic shots. To make the drink, you’ll then want to add the shots. This is going to be the base of your kiwi flavor in the drink. If you don’t have a muddler, a whisk will work just fine to mash it into pieces. It helps give it that beautiful kiwi green color and a rich kiwi flavor. You’ll need plenty of kiwis for this recipe, both as a garnish and an ingredient in the drink. Kiwis have always been one of my favorite fruits, too– they’re so vibrant! I love when I’m making a drink and it starts with some delicious fresh fruit. I love to do a combination of granulated and raw sugar when I tint sugars for rimming glasses because it adds a fun consistency! Rim the glass with a little bit of corn syrup, then the sugar. You can buy this pre-tinted, or you can mix it yourself. To start the drink, simply rim the glass with green or blue sugar. But when I saw his Kiwi Margarita recipe, I knew I had to re-create it for all of my non-drinking friends! It’s too bright, too fun, and too delicious not to re-create, virgin-style! With Cinco de Mayo less than a month away, you’ll be all set with this delicious recipe. But I never get to try his fun recipes because, as I said, I don’t drink. He’s passionate about his work, and he always combines innovative, awesome flavors in his drinks. I cannot be the only non-drinker that loves watching Tipsy Bartender.
